Status: Part-time, nonexempt
Pay rate: $25 per hour
Location: Lopez Island, WA
General work hours: 2 hours per student per week (dependent on number of clients), not to exceed 10 hours per week total.

Time and dates will be scheduled and arranged with clients and tutor’s availability.

Reports to: Program Manager

General: Parapros tutoring for preschool through high school aged children who have an IEP, 504. Referrals from Parents, Lopez Island School, Lopez Children’s Center. Advocates of Lopez Island Gathering for Neurodiversity will assign students with tutors. Contractors must arrange time and meeting location directly with the client’s parents. All referrals and scheduled meeting plans and locations must be approved by ALIGN.

Location requirements: Library, school or another agreed upon public meeting location approved by ALIGN.

Planning
Plan and provide weekly parapro tutoring supports customized for the client’s school subjects and needs determined by client’s parent or teacher, with the ability to organize, perform and evaluate a comprehensively designed individualized program of varied activities with a minimum of supervision.
Tutoring goals and subjects will be pre-determined by parent or teacher.
Tutors will need to record and report weekly to the assigned supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and background in working with neurodivergent and disabled youth and able to assist in school subjects.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to carry a box of curriculum materials across the school to and from their designated space daily. The employee will need to safely escort their student to and from their designated space daily as well.
