Youth
In this section you will find information for active Lopez Island teen groups, helpful resources, and activity ideas created just for youth. From practical tips to inspiring information, you’ll find tools and ideas to help you grow, connect, and thrive.
Youth Health Advocates
The Youth Health Advocates is a group of teens who organize fun, safe events for their peers and lead prevention efforts in their schools and communities. Using their knowledge of prevention, they educate others on how to live healthy lives and be the best versions of themselves. These gatherings create a welcoming space where teens can connect, relax, and enjoy themselves. By joining the group, you can make new friends, earn community service hours, and have fun while making a positive difference.
If you’re interested in joining Youth Health Advocates follow our Instagram @youth.health.adovcate or contact Satya Ray at Satya@lifrc.org or call/text 360-375-0340.

Orgullo Latino
Orgullo Latino is a community for Latinx youth to connect, celebrate their heritage, and grow as leaders. Members engage in activities that honor cultural traditions, encourage self-expression, and strengthen confidence. It’s a welcoming space to share your story, learn from others, and make a positive difference in the community.
If you’re interested in joining Orgullo Latino please contact Karina Cerda at karina@Lifrc.org
Peer-to-Peer
The Peer-to-Peer Program trains high school students in mental health, healthy decision-making, and effective communication. After completing their training, these students become certified Peer-to-Peer Educators, equipped to lead interactive lessons for middle school students. Using engaging presentations and real-life examples, they create a safe and open space for younger students to learn and ask questions.
Because the lessons come from older peers, middle school students often find the content more relatable, authentic, and impactful. They see their high school mentors as role models who “get it,” making the experience both educational and inspiring. In addition to helping younger students, Peer-to-Peer Educators gain valuable leadership skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the topics they teach, ultimately preparing them to make a difference in their schools and communities.
If you’re interested in becoming a certified peer-to-peer educator or for more information please contact Satya Ray at Satya@lifrc.org
