Positive Youth Development – Youth Engagement – Youth Leadership

1 to 1 Mentors

1 to 1 Mentor pairs Lopez Island youth with a trusted, caring adult. Pairs meet weekly to explore, play, learn and grow together.

Mentors help youth imagine their full potential and work towards personal goals whether it be accomplishing a reading assignment or designing a fishing lure.

Small Group Mentors

Small groups are built around shared experiences, active participation and supportive cohorts.

One or two trusted adults mentor a small group of youth as they explore an intensive activity. Together, they co-design and co-learn new ways to build skills and community.

Peer to Peer Mentors

Co-designed and co-led by high schoolers, peer to peer mentors implement a variety of evidence-based programs that support elementary, middle, and fellow high school students to navigate life, community, and the future!

Coast Salish: Land, Sea & Place

A dynamic collaboration led by Coast Salish and tribal partners to implement Since Time Immemorial via experiential learning, indigenous ecological knowledge, and environmental education for Lopez Island youth grades 6-8.

Orgullo Latino

This bilingual, bicultural program provides leadership skills and community service projects that benefit Lopez Island.

Youth Health Advocates

We are a group of youth advocates who are working together to support and foster youth wellbeing and mental health. Our focus is on positive youth development, prevention and community engagement. We host youth leadership trainings, social events, regional summits and advocacy projects. Our goal is to reinvigorate and build a stronger, healthier Lopez.
