The Spirit of Giving Program offers gift cards and food vouchers to families with young children so they can purchase what they really want and need. Parents delight in the opportunity to make their children’s dreams come true, and they don’t have to worry about going hungry to make that happen.
There are several ways to contribute to the Spirit of Giving Program. Giving trees with tags for gift certificates and other specific needs are set up around the island. Look for them at LVM, Blossom, Lopez Post Office, Islander’s Bank, The Bay Café, The Galley Restaurant, The Southend General Store, Lopez Library, Sunset Builders, the LIFRC, the Preschool Bazaar, and the Inter-Island Crafts Affair. Community members may also choose to donate cash, gift certificates, or basic need items at the LIFRC office (above the preschool), by mail at PO Box 732, or by secure online donation at www.lifrc.org. Gift certificates should be brought or mailed to the Family Resource Center by December 14th, so that families have time to do their holiday shopping. Donations of any size are always appreciated. Please call the LIFRC at 468-4117 with any questions.
If you are a Lopez resident and are interested in signing up to be a part of the program, please either email (email@example.com) or call (468-4117) the Resource Center for more information.
