Lopez Fresh Food Bank

Lopez Fresh is a food bank stocked with fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, and other perishables. Located beneath the LIFRC, to the left of the Children’s Center entrance, this volunteer-run program supplements the non-perishable food bank located at Grace Church. Lopez Fresh is open 24/7 for anyone in need of food; there is no sign-up required.

The fridge is stocked in a variety of ways. Volunteers pick up surplus food donated by Lopez Village Market and Blossom Organic Grocery. Individuals in the Lopez community bring donations – both purchased and home-grown – directly to the site. Cash donations to the program are used to purchase food when the donation supply is low.

Lopez Fresh is also the donation and pickup site for Grow-a-Row, a program that encourages local farmers and gardeners to donate fresh, local-grown produce to those in need. Donations may be dropped off at anytime!

Lopez Fresh is a unique and important program that helps feed dozens of individuals and families, and it would not be possible without the generosity of many volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Alaya at 468-4117 or alaya@lifrc.org.
