2010 Kid's Summer Workshops & Registration
The 2010 Kid's Summer Workshop Schedule is now out! Anyone who has a mailing address or a P.O. Box on Lopez Island should receive one. We also send out brochures to anyone who has participated in previous Summer Workshops.
It is important to submit registration and fees early to reserve your slot!! Classes have a limited space and can fill up quickly.

About the Lopez Summer Workshops: The Lopez Summer Workshops Program is the only summer-time enrichment and recreational program offered on Lopez Island for residents and visitors ages 3 through adult.
The program started in 1993 as an effort to engage young people in healthy, supervised, skill and self esteem building activities outside of the school setting. Each year the program has expanded and blossomed into an indispensible community resource that opened up new worlds of opportunity to many of the island’s at-risk and under-served youth. It also offers island residents a chance to meet and interact with participants from off island who are visiting relatives or spending the summer on Lopez.
One of the reasons this program has been so successful is that we have kept it affordable to local families. Workshop fees pay for less than 60% of the actual program costs while the rest comes from generous local contributions including United Way, the Lopez Lions Club, Lopez Thrift Shop, Lopez Yacht Club, Grace Church and individual donors.

• identify and learn the many uses of seaweed and other beachside land plants in a Seaweed Ramble
• hone your fishing skills in Let's Go Fishing
• Learn how to Sail or Kayak
• explore your creativity with our Intro to Improv workshop
• learn how to make delectable Sushi Rolls!
• Improve your soccer skills with British Challenger Soccer coaches in our week-long British Soccer camp.
